Pap Smears for Women in Singapore

Most experts will now agree that Human Papilloma virus (HPV) is frequently associated with cervical cancer and other cervical abnormalities. The cervix is the entrance to the uterus (womb) and most commonly we use the Pap smear to screen for cervical cancer and other abnormalities.

Heal Group offer Pap tests for women in Singapore, providing them with a relaxed and comfortable environment during the test. As a fairly invasive test, we know it can be difficult booking that appointment, which is why we put focus on a friendly service and a welcoming, relaxed team.

When should I receive a Cervical Screening or Colposcopy?

Current guidelines encourage women who have ever been sexually active to do a Pap smear at least once every 3 years starting from the age of 21-25. As part of our Pap smear testing, we are also able to check for high risk HPV serotypes.

Even if you haven’t recognised any abnormalities or have any cause for concern, it’s important to still meet the recommended check-ups. Cervical abnormalities can go unnoticed, and it’s important to detect the concern as soon as possible in order for treatment to be its most effective.

Friendly, Female Doctors for a More Comfortable Experience

If there are any abnormalities picked up on Pap smear we may choose to either repeat the smear after treatment or a second procedure called colposcopy may be required. Colposcopy is a procedure done to magnify the cervix so that the gynaecologist may be able to accurately sample and treat any areas of abnormality seen.

You can choose to have a female doctor in order to make you feel more comfortable. If you are due or overdue for a Pap test or health screening, book an appointment with Heal Group today. Call us on 62509550 or drop us an email.
